Dear Planning and Zoning:

I’m a New Canaan resident and I oppose the development of residential properties for private institutional use. Protect New Canaan’s character, natural resources and open space by preserving residential neighborhoods.

Dear Planning and Zoning:

A 200 car above ground parking garage cantilevered over a wetlands setback is a cynical interpretation of building codes meant to protect the community and environment. SAY NO to a project that will harm the environment and benefit no one but the residents driving in from other towns. Tell St. Luke’s to take accountability for a congestion problem they have created.

Dear Planning and Zoning:

I’m a New Canaan resident and I oppose the rezoning of New Canaan’s residential neighborhoods. Don’t side with residents from other towns at the expense of your constituents. Traffic, noise and light pollution destroys our quality of life and lowers our property value. SAY NO to St. Luke’s School 200 car parking garage.

The community supports low-impact paved parking for daytime visitors to residential institutions.

New Canaan should follow our existing regulations and POCD. Our detailed regulations around parking have been thoughtfully composed over many years and reflect our community’s desires. It’s bad policy to change them overnight. Follow our normal regulations to solve a normal problem.

Sample Letter:

I’m a New Canaan resident and I oppose parking garages in residential neighborhoods. New Canaan should not change its law for the benefit of a private school with 78% non-residents. Protect New Canaan Zoning and SAY NO to a 200 car garage in a residential neighborhood.

Dear Planning and Zoning:

I’m a New Canaan resident and I think St. Luke’s School should follow in the footsteps of peer institutions and seek a second campus that is not in a residential zone. Brunswick has three campuses. Greenwich Academy has two. Other towns SAY NO to private school expansion. Demand that St. Luke’s be transparent about its plans to rezone a residential neighborhood.
